Army management
You have full control over your army's composition. Available recruits are determined based on your success in battle and the loyalty of the population. Use these recruits to create divisions, brigades, and regiments. Keep your soldiers alive and they will learn to fight better, turning them from green rookies into crack veterans. Take too many casualties and you might not have enough recruits to reinforce your units and win the next battle. Lose too many battles and the population's loyalty and army morale will drop and the war will be lost.
Supply is essential
Three base supply items are needed for each unit: weapons, ammunition and food. Weapons and ammunition are provided by weapon factories. Weapons are received when a new unit is created and later these weapons can be replaced by better ones, according to availability. Ammunition consists of gunpowder, bullets and balls which are spent in battle and must be replenished for maintaining your army in a minimum fighting condition. It is also necessary to constantly supply your army with food, otherwise non-combat losses will grow and the morale of the soldiers will drop. The army can forage a territory for food but, in this case, the welfare of the region and the loyalty of population will deteriorate.
Food & other Resources
Food is produced in agricultural facilities. The more food a region produces, the larger the army it can feed. To increase food production, it is necessary to raise the agricultural level of the region. Surplus food will be stored in warehouses or sent to other regions. Mineral resources are needed to produce weapons, ammunition, and ships. Each region has different resources that can be mined. To increase production, it is necessary to develop the level of mineral resource extraction in a region.
Ammunition & weapon production
To produce weapons and ammunition, you must develop the military industry. The game has a simplified system, in which you need to build factories and shipyards. The factories are used for the production of small arms, guns, ammunition, and supply wagons. With the shipyards you build warships and supply ships.
Infrastructure & warehouses
Each region has a level of infrastructure and warehouses. The degree of infrastructure development affects the volume of supplies moving through a region. Warehouses are the main element of army logistics since the army can carry only a limited amount of food and ammunition while the rest are stored in warehouses. A high level of warehouses allows the supply of an army even if the region is no longer capable of producing those supplies. You can specify the priority of supplying a region so that all other regions redirect supply to the selected region. Thereby, you can provide supply for large military units even in very poor regions.
Supply lines
Moving food and ammunition requires supply wagons, supply ships, and well-developed infrastructure. If the region is cut off from the supply line, then the army in the region can consume only its own supplies and rely on what lies in the region's warehouse or is produced by the region. The enemy can intercept convoys and, in this case, part of the supply will be captured by the enemy. Therefore, It is absolutely necessary to secure your supply lines and avoid letting your army be cut off from supply centers.
Natural Line of Sight with Heightmap
The game uses a realistic line of sight through a physical ray model. For each unit it is calculated, with multiple beams, what obstructs its visibility. Each unit sees individually around itself, but the overall picture is obtained by overlaying the information from all the units. The whole visibility area is represented accurately by 3D rendering, showing the ground unevenness in detail.
Terrain matters
Hills will allow you to see enemy units earlier and shoot them down more efficiently. Rivers and bridges are natural obstacles that will present serious defensive advantages. Forests will help you hide your movements and flank the enemy. Trenches, roads, fences, houses, fields – every inch of ground matters. Use it well in order to achieve victory.
Realistic ballistics
The game implements realistic physics for the flight of shells and the accuracy of guns. You need to very carefully select targets so that a random projectile does not land at the back of your own army ranks, and cause friendly losses or a false panic that the enemy is attacking from behind.
Innovative command system
You decide the level of army control. Command every unit individually or just give them a goal with a single click and watch if they can take that hill. Draw a defensive line and the allocated brigades will defend it like lions. Design a deep flanking maneuver by just drawing an arrow and send the whole army to the enemy flank or rear. Army division commanders can also make decisions on their own to help you control a large army. Your generals will try to fulfill your orders, although "no plan survives contact with the enemy."
Enhanced unit control
Merge several regiments into one larger brigade if necessary. Dismount cavalry to become less visible to the enemy or mount up for fast flanking charges and supply raids. Capture enemy guns and turn them around on the enemy. Distribute and protect your supplies, otherwise the battle might be quickly lost.
Officer progression
The player General and historical unit commanders will be able to improve their abilities as the campaign progresses. Officers rank up based on their unit's performance, but they can be wounded or even get killed in battle. Higher ranks provide new command opportunities and allow officers to lead larger units efficiently. Winning battles also provides direct benefits to you as a general, increasing skills such as reconnaissance or political influence.
Advanced Artificial Intelligence
Face an AI that will utilize the high ground, attempt to flank you, or hit your weak spots if given the opportunity. The AI will also use terrain to take cover and will know when to retreat if the odds become overwhelming. If you leave your artillery batteries or supply wagons unguarded, the AI will make sure you regret it.
Naval combat
Your fleet will play a crucial role in the war. Your ships must be properly outfitted so that they can control important sea regions, cut enemy supply lines, and transport troops to surprise the enemy with a coastal attack. The naval combat system offers realistic sailing mechanics, a detailed damage model, and beautiful ships of the historical era.
